I was planning on taking a break from writing for a while, but after seeing this movie I cant help myself… In short, “WANTED” kicked major ass! From start to finish I was drawn into this movie. It was entertainment at its best.
For those of you who don’t know, “Wanted” is about a young man named Wes who finds himself (like many people in life) with no sense of direction. Yes he has a job, Yes he has a place to live, Yes he even has a girlfriend, but every single day he goes on with his pathetic existence working for a boss he cant stand and living with a girlfriend, who well….lets just say certainly doesn’t respect him.
The movie reminded me of The Matrix in many different ways. Like Neo, every single day Wes would sit behind a computer desk at work and do the same boring routine until one day Wes is contacted by some hot female named FOX who is played by Angelina Jolie. Everything he hears afterwards (including the death of his father) changes his life forever. Now Wes must decide whether he will follow his fathers footsteps of becoming an Assasin or carry on the life he has always known, but dreaded.
Many action scenes in this movie like in The Matrix were shot with the slow motion bullet effect. I know that many people today probably are tired of seeing it because they feel its been done or they feel its unoriginal, but not me. I personally LOVE it.
Angelina Jolie portrays her character very well. These are the type of movies that Angelina Jolie should stick with. Anytime I see Angelina holding a gun while pouting her lips you know Im there.
She was totally bad ass in this movie and the action scenes she was in were awesome. The character Wes who was played by James McAvoly was also great. Like Neo once he accepts his destiny he is a total bad ass.
The movie has its share of funny moments mixed with lots of ridiculous action scenes that will have you screaming with excitement. Im telling you the movie kicked ass and the kills were awesome. Morgan Freemon was also in the movie. I guess we could consider him the Morpheus of the group since he was the leader of this secret society.
Final Thoughts: I know this is a really short review, but I really don’t want to ruin the movie for anyone and if I mention what I really want to say it WILL ruin the movie for you. All I could say is that this is what I call a fun flick. The action scenes are complete bullshit. There is no way anyone in the world could curve freakin bullets and hit their target. Then again maybe they can if they pretend they are pitching a baseball? This movie is not The Matrix though, so when you see some of the things these people do you will think, “How the F are they doing that?!” But you know what, forget that. Just watch the movie and listen to how they explain what they could do and just go into the movie and enjoy it for what it is. A fun, entertaining flick. Angelina Jolie is not as hot as she once was to me. Personally I would sit her down and feed her some food, but still she has a presence on screen that screams sexy. The ending was great. I didn’t feel cheated like I do in some movies and unlike The Matrix you wont leave the movie theatre with more questions then answers. Everyone in the movie did a great job and I loved it. Not much else I could say. I even related to the Wes character in some ways. Especially when Angelina tells him that he says sorry to much. That’s me, Im always saying that. Lack of confidence sometimes is what it is. Plus I to work behind a computer desk and I actually see things in slow motion the way Wes does. lol.
Final Grade: 10 Out Of 10. I cant think of how they could have made this movie any better. I had fun watching it and that’s all I wanted to do. Nuff said!
Didn't mean to step on your toes (or review) but like you I just had to review this one. It liked it but something about the whole fate thing fucked with my mind. The action was cool though.

Naa, you didn't step on my toes or review for that matter. Everyone has their own opinions and its always nice to read yours. I think the last movie we both reviewed might have been "Dawn of the Dead" or "The Passion of The Christ". I dont recall now. Anyways, you could have completly trashed this movie and I wouldn't have thought anything of it. The hell with everyone else though that has boycotted this site. Just kidding.
